Evoke Ink
UI/UX Designer
Evoke Ink is an illustration studio that features the work of various artists. The website serves as a platform to showcase portfolios, promote services, and connect artists with potential clients. My role involved designing an intuitive, visually appealing website that highlights the uniqueness of each artist's work.
the problem
The challenge was to create a site that balances aesthetic appeal with functionality. It needed to showcase artists' portfolios in a way that captures the viewer's attention, while still providing easy navigation to explore different artists, view detailed profiles, and make contact.
My role
As the UI/UX designer, I was responsible for the user interface design and creating a seamless user experience. I used Figma to design the layouts, interaction flows, and visual hierarchy, ensuring the website aligned with the artistic nature of the studio while remaining functional for visitors.

Reflection
Working on Evoke Ink gave me the opportunity to explore a minimalist design approach that allows visual content, in this case, the artists’ illustrations, to take center stage. Through this project, I refined my ability to balance aesthetics and functionality, ensuring that users could easily navigate the site while immersing themselves in the artwork. I was pleased with how the final design maintained this balance, but I also recognized some areas for improvement.
One key reflection from this project, as well as others, is that many of my designs share a similar aesthetic and structure. While this consistency has its advantages—such as clarity and simplicity—it also limits my creative range. Moving forward, I want to explore more diverse design styles and experiment with new layouts, colors, and interaction patterns. By diversifying my design approach, I can push myself beyond my current comfort zone and create websites that feel more tailored to their unique purposes.
Additionally, as with my previous projects, I wish I had incorporated more user testing and feedback early in the design process. Gathering insights from actual users would have allowed me to refine the site’s functionality and better align the user experience with their expectations. In future projects, I plan to focus more on user-centered design by involving users in wireframe testing and prototyping stages. This will help ensure that my designs not only look good but also perform well in real-world usage.
